Shea butter good for baby’s skin

As a parent, you think it’s important to take care of your (newborn) baby’s skin. This is not always easy. So we, at Afiba Naturals, think it’s important to keep good skin care accessible. By offering products that contribute to the health of your baby’s skin.

What – shea butter?

Yes, Sheabutter! Shea butter is 100% vegetable and natural. It is extracted from the nuts of the shea tree. This tree is also known as the tree of life and is very popular in (pop) media and culture.

The butter has its own authentic fragrance and good properties but, when processed, it can lose fragrance and properties.

This is why shea butter is good!

Shea butter is packed with various vitamins (such as vitamin A, vitamin E) and fatty acids. The fatty acids and vitamins provide a protective barrier and support collagen production. The nice thing about shea butter is that it is antiseptic. So it is ideal for your baby’s newborn skin and fine for adult skin. (link to 5 properties sheabutter blog)

So what is Vitamin A good for?

Vitamin A is good for vision, contributes to normal immune system function, is involved in skin cell and hair production and helps maintain healthy skin.

And vitamin E?

Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, protecting blood vessels, cells, organs, etcetera. Vitamin E is found in sunflower oil, cereal products, nuts, seeds, vegetables and fruits. The benefit of vitamin E is that it helps protect against harmful UV rays from the sun. So great to spread when the sun is shining!

Fatty acids

100% pure shea butter contains five main fatty acids namely palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid and arachidonic acid. These fatty acids keep the skin oily, supple and soft.

Our shea butter comes in different (unrefined) varieties. Want a butter that doesn’t smell as strong but with the benefits of unrefined shea butter? Then check out our deodorized shea butter (product link).

Honest skincare for your baby doesn’t have to be difficult. Choose Afiba Naturals.
